The KL International School of Chongqing Bashu Announces Jason A. Moore Named Head of School

The KL International School of Chongqing Bashu (KLISCB) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Jason A. Moore, Ed.D. has been appointed as Head of School. Dr. Moore will begin his term January 24, 2016. The Board’s unanimous decision to appoint Dr. Moore was based on his exemplary record of school leadership, both in the United States and abroad.

Dr. Moore brings fifteen years of experience as a teacher, director of curriculum and instruction, and principal to KLISCB. He was most recently Principal at Red Rock Elementary School, a multi-ethnic school located in the heart of Navajo Nation in Gallup, New Mexico, USA. Previously, Dr. Moore served as Director of the Quality Schools International (QSI) schools in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Dili, Timor-Leste. His passion for excellence in bringing 21st century curricula and pedagogy to diverse student populations is evident in both his distinguished career as an educator and administrator, and his record of publications and conference presentations.

“I am honored to be named KL International School of Chongqing Bashu’s Head of School and entrusted with the responsibility of leading this remarkable community,” said Dr. Moore. “My goal is to build upon our promising foundation and nurture KLISCB’s mission of developing well-educated and internationally-minded citizens who can adapt to a changing world. I look forward to working with you as we chart our future course together.”

Dr. Moore earned his Doctor of Education at the University of Southern California in 2007. He also holds a Master of Arts in Educational Administration (2004) and Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies (2000) from California State University San Bernardino.

The KL International School of Chongqing Bashu is delighted to welcome Dr. Moore, his wife Jennifer Moore, and their children. Mrs. Moore was most recently a third grade teacher at Chee Dodge Elementary School in Yah-Ta-Hey, New Mexico, USA and will join KLISCB as an early education teacher. Describing her educational philosophy, Mrs. Moore cited her goal to “put the child at the center of the learning process,” and to ensure that “ideas are not compartmentalized, but interwoven through all aspects of the curriculum.”

The selection of KLISCB’s Head of School is the Board of Directors’ highest responsibility, and was approached with great care in a tailored search. “Dr. Moore’s record of achievement in international education and commitment to student success position him well to lead our school,” said May Zhou, President of KnowledgeLink. “We look forward to the KLISCB community continuing to grow and thrive under his leadership and academic vision.”
