BARSTOW SCHOOL – CHINA

The Barstow School of Kansas City, Missouri has been a KL School since 2014, when headmaster Shane Foster joined with the KL team to found Barstow branch campuses in Ningbo, China, serving hundreds of students in grades K-12. An additional campus in Ningbo (Haishu) was founded in 2015.

At the 2014 NAIS annual conference, Shane Foster co-presented a workshop with a KL Senior Director entitled “American Education Overseas: Exploring Partnership Schools in China.”

ST. MARY’S – CHINA

St. Mary’s School of Medford, Oregon has been a KL partner school since 2012. Under the current leadership of Head of School Ryan Bernard, St. Mary’s has expanded its educational reach through branch campuses in several Chinese cities including Pinghu, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Shenzhen, and Chengdu. This successful partnership serves hundreds of students in grades 9-12, providing authentic American education to international students.

St. Mary’s has also established the St. Mary’s Online Academy (SMOA), a Cognia-accredited global online learning platform that delivers the same rigorous American curriculum through experienced American teachers and professional bilingual learning coaches. With an impressive track record of academic success, 30% of SMOA graduates attend Top 50 universities and 80% attend Top 100 universities worldwide, including prestigious institutions such as UC Berkeley, UCLA, NYU, and the University of Washington.

KL INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

The KL International School (KLIS) is a non-profit school in Chongqing, China open to students of expatriate families living and working in southwestern China.
